There's a little purple frog that take like 75 hp away from you per hit when you have like 100. There's a damn plant on the beginning basic overworld that has a move that drops every character you haves HP to 001 and he also Regenerates 2 companions constantly. You can't level up and it takes quite a while to get used to all the games non traditional replacements to being able to do so (You have to learn upgrading swords and armors yourself, on top of finding runes, on top of fusing runes, on top of learning which armors and weapons to put them in, on top of the reward board, on top of getting used to having to sell things for money vs just getting it from battles, on top of how to actually upgrade your skills, etc. This games early enemies take 7 to 10 cycles. To it, and I'd that's true, then this baby could start to skyrocket up to S2 tier, so we'll see! I do have to day that it isn't touching Suikoden 2 for me yet, and I can't see much resemblance between them, barring the art style, which is surprising as in an interview I read, Matthias as listed Suikoden 2 first when naming the games it was a love letter, too. I do notice small things "I would have done differently" such as the story because I'm a writer myself, and the difficulty is absolutely insane and I'm unsure why it isn't made a big deal of in reviews. I just got to the area with all the flowers and I disagree for the most part.
